What’s new for SharePoint – June 2024

As the northern hemisphere welcomes the beginning of summer, many of us start to wind down and head off on our well-deserved holidays to soak up the good weather. In June 2024, we’ve seen a lot of new options for content editors that promise to revolutionize how pages are created.

The content pane is a new place for relevant panes that help authors create their publications. With the introduction of this centralized location, a new toolbox will help authors quickly browse and add content to create rich and engaging pages. The content pane will include additional panes such as configuration tools and design ideas. Within Viva Amplify, the content pane is used to host the distribution channel selection, writing guidance, and audience selection.

This updates the Viva Amplify editors for both Outlook and Teams distribution channels to improve previewing and editing. These updates will provide improvements to load time and create a coherent audience selection experience across the channels.

SharePoint: eSignature sequential signing

Sequential signing enables the creator of an eSignature request to specify the sequence of recipients. The document is first signed by the initial recipient in the sequence, then forwarded to the subsequent recipient for their signature. This process continues in the designated order until every recipient has added their signature. Once everyone has signed, the signed document is made available to all involved.

Clipchamp: Brand kit – Extended elements and tenant-wide rollout

Brand kit enables anyone to create and share brand asset collections including colors, fonts, and logos to easily apply brand elements while creating. This release adds support for images, backgrounds, stickers, video, and audio asset types. An organization’s official assets can now be rolled out tenant-wide via SharePoint Organization Asset Libraries (OAL). Brand kit creation, sharing, and manual usage is being made generally available to all Clipchamp for work accounts for users with standard access.

Microsoft SharePoint eSignature service will soon expand to the UK, Canada, and select European countries.
