What’s new for SharePoint – June 2025

While June brought fewer announcements than usual, the updates we received are particularly significant and warrant careful attention.

The month’s biggest story was the SPFx Field Customizers deprecation notice that initially scheduled retirement for June 2026. Following substantial community feedback, Microsoft has postponed this planned change and continues to evaluate the situation. This serves as an important reminder to monitor these announcements closely and maintain transition strategies.

Key changes on the horizon include the retirement of Microsoft Lists mobile apps in favor of the mobile browser experience, and the unification of Stream and Clipchamp under the Clipchamp brand – a transition that will complete by late July 2025.

June also delivered valuable enhancements for content creators and administrators, including click-through rate metrics in page analytics, enhanced site headers and footers, and improved Content AI capabilities for document translation. Additionally, new compliance features around data lifecycle management and site attestation policies may require planning consideration.

What’s new for SharePoint – May 2025

May brought some solid updates that actually make sense. The big news? 50 new page templates are rolling out soon, and they look way more practical than what we’ve had before.

There’s also a new FAQs web part powered by Copilot that might finally solve those repetitive support questions we all deal with. Plus OneDrive is getting some practical tools – think converting files to PDF and adding watermarks without jumping through hoops.

What’s new for SharePoint – April 2025

April brought an impressive batch of SharePoint updates, and two of them really caught my attention. These exciting changes will transform how teams work with SharePoint while adding some much-needed visual flair.

Microsoft is rolling out Viva Connections cards integration with SharePoint agents, creating a more interactive conversation experience right where you work. This smart addition lets you engage with information cards directly in your conversations without switching contexts.

Additionally, the SharePoint experience is getting a much-needed visual refresh with multi-color themes. Site owners will soon have access to eight new out-of-the-box themes through the Site branding feature, finally breaking free from limited color schemes.

These are just the updates that caught my eye this month! Check out the full blog post to see all the other SharePoint improvements coming your way. What features are you most looking forward to? Drop a comment below and let me know which updates will make the biggest difference for your team.
