What’s new for SharePoint – April 2023
In April 2023, Microsoft released several updates for SharePoint and related technologies, including the retirement of SharePoint 2013 workflows in favor of Power Automate and a new forms experience for Microsoft Lists. Additionally, users can now browse SharePoint sites on the Viva Connections mobile app and a new prebuilt model for analyzing contracts will be added to Microsoft Syntex.

SharePoint content on Office.com and Edge New Tab Page Feed show related Viva Topics
Microsoft Feed items will soon show a Viva Topic pill when it is relevant for SharePoint content. This allows the user to easily learn more about the topic and get to the people and content related to the topic for that item.

Applied Filters in Microsoft Lists
Microsoft Lists is rolling out a new way to visualize and clear the filters that are present in a view.
As you add and adjust filters to narrow or expand what appears in a view inside a list, you will see which filters have been applied and you can remove them without having to go back into the column filter pane.

Microsoft Search: Video Search in Bing, Office.com, SharePoint, and Stream
Our new Video tab will improve video search in your organization by having a dedicated place to search through Stream, OneDrive, SharePoint videos. This Video tab will appear on Microsoft Search in Bing/Office/SharePoint and Stream.
SharePoint 2013 workflow retirement
Since the release of SharePoint workflows, Microsoft has evolved workflow orchestration to not only encompass SharePoint, but all the productivity services you use with Microsoft 365 and beyond. With the continued investment in Power Automate as the universal solution to workflow, Microsoft is retiring SharePoint 2013 workflows.

Microsoft Viva: Mobile SharePoint site navigation
Microsoft will be releasing a feature update that will allow Viva connections mobile users to browse and reach SharePoint sites by surfacing their hub and site navigation in Viva Connections.
If you are exposing SharePoint sites on the Viva connections app, users will be able to see a navigation the same way. This will allow users to be able to browse other sites from that menu reducing overall friction

SharedWith and SharedWithDetails column in OneDrive and SharePoint will no longer be updated
Microsoft will be retiring the SharedWith and SharedWithDetails columns from OneDrive and SharePoint starting in early June. For customers who are looking to understand who has access to content, we recommend utilizing features like the Microsoft 365 Audit Logs and the Manage Access experience.
Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Information Protection – Service side auto-labeling shows file labeling progress for turned on policies in SharePoint and OneDrive (U.S. Government clouds)
Service side auto-labeling will show files to be labeled, files labeled (past 7 days), and files labeled (total) for turned on policies in SharePoint and OneDrive. Clicking on the auto-labeling policy will show files to be labeled and files labeled (total) broken down by the different sites. If a policy includes Exchange as a location, the number of emails that were labeled won’t be displayed because labels are automatically applied as messages are sent.

Microsoft Lists: A new forms experience to collect information
Microsoft is making it easier to collect information with an updated forms experience for Microsoft Lists. Forms look clean, are easy to design, can be easily shared, and respondents are able to fill them out on any device. All form responses appear immediately in your list after recipient clicks the submit button.
Microsoft Syntex: Prebuilt model for contracts
Microsoft will soon add a new prebuilt model to Microsoft Syntex, which can be used to analyze contracts and extract common entities.
